Action-mobilization, or autists help people from Ukraine!

Specialized assistance therapeutic and psychological assistance provided to people on the autism spectrum is the foundation's core business. At the same time, it is an indispensable part of everyday life for people with disabilities. Unfortunately, the wartime reality often deviates from the norm. So many needs remain. To be able to realize them, you need qualified specialists and ... money. The JiM Foundation helps on two fronts. Our charges - Participants of the Occupational Therapy Workshops - are collecting donations, and at the same time a fundraiser is underway for the Kiev-based autistic organization Дитина з майбутнім ("Child with a Future"). And these are not the only forms of assistance.

First, financial support on the ground.

Nearly 20 thousand zlotys - that's how much was raised in just one week during an online collection. The JiM Foundation will not only transfer 100% of the collected amount to the Ukrainian organization, but also DOUBLE what was collected. On Monday, the first part of the amount raised was sent. The transfer totaled 25 thousand zlotys.

The collection is still ongoing. You can join in HERE

The Kiev-based autistic organization is dedicated to fighting for the improvement of the situation of autistic people, for access to diagnosis, education, or culture. The organization also runs a kindergarten where the children, under the care of therapists, will prepare for adult life. Unfortunately, the war has made it impossible for them to function normally, and the stressful and precarious situation is particularly difficult for people on the autism spectrum. You can hear about the details of their life in Ukraine and Polish support in a conversation between JiM Foundation President Tomasz Michalowicz and Ira Sergiyenko from the organization "Child with a Future."

We are also collecting donations for visitors.

At the same time, in-kind donations are being collected for people from Ukraine. This is the idea of our autistic charges - Participants of the Occupational Therapy Workshops. "Help for Ukraine" is an action in which everyone can get involved. Sometimes all you need is a pack of matches, batteries or a bottle of water. Donations are usually necessities such as cosmetics, underwear, food (canned goods, groats, water, etc.), clothing. All these can be brought to the foundation's headquarters at 105 Tatrzanska Street in Lodz. We are collecting donations from Tuesday to next Friday (2-11.03).

(The full list is available below.)

We help connect those who offer and need help.

The JiM Foundation also assists all the time in finding housing, specialized assistance or translations for autistic people from Ukraine and their relatives who have come to Poland. We have applications from all over the country and beyond. People offering help call us from, among other provinces, Lodz, Swietokrzyskie, Silesia, Lublin and even West Germany. The list is updated daily, because every day there are more and more people willing to help. We also provide assistance in Ukrainian and Russian.
